Les temps bleu
Les temps bleu is a photographic series similar to an incomplete investigation where geology, mediumship, landscape and divination coexist. From her constant dialogue with the field of experimental music, Julie Calbert analogously retains a specific approach to sound and music in her way of dealing with the materiality of her images. Sampling, saturation, noise and feedback are among the technical terms applicable to her process. Elusive apparitions, where the mark of pop iconography can be made out, cross murky landscapes. The cyan is chemical, it alternates with a powerful magenta, the black tones are like charcoal. Les temps bleu which are cited, thus send us back as much to past processes like cyanotypes, to hematoma as to methylene solutions.
